Default Fuel usage, pleasantly surprised.

In the last 2 weeks since I picked up my 2004, I have filled it up, then put 2 full tanks through.
I put in 13.3 and 13.2 gallons, and averaged 22.1 then 21.6. This had a slight increase in highway miles from my typical driving (Mainly on the first tank) but on the same driving I got 14.5 - 15.5 in my Charger R/T. This is actually about the same I used to get in my 2001 PT Cruiser with 5 speed.

It was 296, then 285 miles per tank when the light came on with suburban driving and rush hour driving into work.
I think I will save about $50/month on gas, which I will put straight into a fund for tires.

Everything I read about the estimated MPG lead me to expect high teens in my driving, not over 20.

I was just up in Pittsburg this past weekend. Had a good time. You need to come to Carlisle next summer and join up with about 30 - 40 Crossfire owners at the Chrysler Nationals. It's a good time.

WRT the mileage. I get upper 20's on the highway and general high teens to low 20's around town. One trip I was actually around 30 mpg on the highway. Not bad at all.

Enjoy the car.

I almost went to Carlisle this year, I was on call for work though. I will be at Woodward in a couple weeks. I bet if you set the cruise in the low 60s, this car will break 30MPG. I may try on the way to Detroit, no rush, might as well enjoy the drive.

Made a round trip to Boynton the other week and drove around a bit then filled up when I got back to Orlando. 378 miles mostly at 70ish except in Frog Stranglers (2). Low fuel light came on about 10 miles out.

On the highway, my car seems to get the same mileage (28) whether I'm going 65 or 80. Am I delusional, or do others find the same thing?

I get much better mileage at 55 than I do at 75, about 32 vs 27

I can't say it's the same but not a huge difference between 55 and 70. With modded SRT on freeways I do about 27, around town about 22, unless, of course, I am goaded into an overt act of mayhem.

Calculated mileage for the roadster has been 25-26 city and 28-30 highway. Yes, 55-60 mpg is better than my normal 70-80. I have hit 31-23 highway on some trips. The SRT6 is closer to 18-20 city and 25-26 highway no matter how gently I drive it. Gentle is a challenge.

Took a road trip this week.
Going I went mostly back roads, but good roads and could do 60 - 65. Over 300 miles I averaged 29.4 mpg.

Coming back I went Interstate all the way, driving mostly 80 (hitting 100 a few times). Averaged 31.4. Best I have ever done.

Just curious, but how many of you are manual transmissions? I get between 20-21. Actually my exact is 20.71 over 2500 miles. I would be curious what it is capable of on a longer trip if driven correctly.

My average is probably 50/50 city/highway and generally I drive at the speed limit on the highway (75mph here). I do tend to drive spirited when under highway speeds though.

All my driving is around town and much of heavy pedal have not measured mpg, my last car I had an Auto meter would read average mpg and constant mpg, will not work on my XF so I just bought a heads up display 5.5 inch will show speed and mpg it has shipped will not receive it for a week or so.

If it doesn't work out, get an Ultra-Gauge, I've had one for 4 years now :
UltraGauge OBDII Scan tool & Information Center

I currently have a scangauge ii, and a Bluetooth obd2 adapter for smartphone. I used the HUD on Torque and like the idea.
