Cross-country for a Crossfire
Re: Cross-country for a Crossfire
The jack and lug wrench should be under the trunk carpet on the left, no spare tire does limit its uses though.
I would fix that hose to the overflow tank, blocking both ends needs to be done, so why not add the nipple and be done with it.
Others have just screwed in the nipple and not cut the slots in it.
If you do not block both ends you will have no pressure in the radiator and she will blow a lot of coolant.
The lock on the hatch operates using air pressure just as the doors and fuel filler cover do. They are not electrically operated.

It is controlled by the top module to lock the trunk during top operation, in case the owner is stupid enough to try opening it while the top is in motion.
On second thought, not the owner, he/she would have to be in the car holding the button, I guess it's for stupid spouses or kids.
( unless you have the one-touch top mod, then you could display your stupidity by starting the top and rushing around to open the trunk ! )

This is a roadster Dave, there IS an electrical lock also, the one pizzaguy highly recommends disabling by removing the plastic tip from the plunger.

If he is not operating the top it does not come into play unless it is busted, is that correct?

HOWEVER, the plunger has been known to stick in the extended position, thus locking the trunk when it shouldn't. ( I rekon you could call that 'busted' )
Re: Cross-country for a Crossfire
Finally, got the internet back.
Talk about a black out. Darn near lost, anyway for the most part I'm ready to head home.
The Crossfire has some new parts and I feel I can make it the 900 mile journey back.
Biggest thing in the back of my mind is "what could go wrong"? I have about an 80% confidence of no issues getting home.
Once home, I can tackle more repairs. First think is a good scrubbing.

The problem here is that the little contacts inside the instrument cluster are used so infrequently that they are intermittent at best.
Re: Cross-country for a Crossfire
There is no spare tire.

Rethinking, I found the small hose had a short piece of copper pipe stuck in it from a previous repair. So I pulled that out, reclamped it while extending what I can (about two inches) and then on the tanks side, made the broken nipple hole just big enough for this pipe, then I duct taped it secured.
Seems to work, as I was testing it out the low coolant light came on. I went to add coolant and the reservoir cap did have "some" pressure.
Re: Cross-country for a Crossfire
Just south of Nashville, TN. Got 5 and 1/2 hours to go. Traffic is medium density. Odometer is about to hit 111,111, so that's exciting.
Doing the whole trip (one direction) in 1 day, yes. Will have to wait until I get home for pictures.
Enjoy the ride, doing whole trip in 1 day?
How do you like driving it?
Any pics yet?

I have external sensors, that shows exact pressure.
How was the drive?
Exciting?
Tire rack has 285/35r19 continental dsw on closeout for only $183 apiece.
If you need new all seasons for rear.
Re: Cross-country for a Crossfire
If not it could have been close to the light coming on when you started back home. A slow leak occuring on your drive and the light comes on.
