You should put the fuse back and see if the "blinking" and locks are working. My 04 recently went on a wailing fit. Pulled the fuse and a couple days later put it back. Alarm module has died now but I have full locking - blinking functions. If this works fine on yours then you don't have a water issue.

Question Re: Factory Alarm Chirp! Solved! Read!!!

I recently received a new siren/alarm from Toliver Chrysler, TX. It is part #04692034AB ($138+ship.), It (and part#56038724AB): supercede #5124443AB. It has a metal bracket surrounding the siren, bolted together with torx sec. bolt in center. Not sure but I think the siren is the right part, but with this different bracket. Have not removed cowl lately, waiting till we replace windshield. Has anyone encountered this part #? and how it sounds? Thanks in advance.

I got this part shown in this post.
It chirps and I am happy.
Mercedes part A219 820 32 26, Chrysler part
5124443AB.

The original siren had a shield around it, frankly I cannot see a part that is cheaper at a Chrysler dealer is a better part than a part that costs more at a Mercedes dealer.

I would guess that you have got the wrong part. I do not think a lower number part will supersede a part with a higher number, I could easily be wrong as I have been wrong once before.
Attached is a picture of your siren according to the description. It does not look like the part, I doubt the plug will fit even if you can mount it.
Will they take it back?

Thank you very much 180! Your link to your photos helps a lot. The Good News: once I got the T40 security bolt & bracket off, the siren has Bosch & Mercedes "star" on it, and part #'s A 171 820 25 26, & 56038724AB on it. Not sure yet but I think the plug connection is correct also, so I think it will be "plug & play". When it is done (w/windshield) I will update. Interestingly, the box says made in Australia. Thanks again.
Your thumbnail does depict the bracket, so I think the 0469 2034 AB pertains to other Chrysler vehicles that use that bracket with the same siren.

Thanks for reminding me. Had windshield replaced about a week ago, by shop I've used before. I loosened the cowl and installed the siren the day before, and put cowl back after glass was in. (good time to check those drains for debris clogging).
I disconnected battery ground to be safe (probably could've just removed #9 fuse). Siren went in with original bracket. Works like a charm. "Chirp" is misleading: sound is 3 soft beeps when locking & 1 when unlocked. Mrs. did not want a chirp, so she is pleased.

I went ahead with the install yesterday, no problem. I didn't even worry about the bracket or safety torx. I removed the old bracket and siren, grabbed an appropriately sized bolt, nylock nut, and washers and installed the new siren with the bracket that comes with it. Worked perfectly. Agreed - the "chirp" is so soft it basically isn't there.

I installed the new siren this week also. I did it to correct the lights flashing-no siren fault from caused by the batteries failing in the old siren. The new siren fixed the problem and I rather like the new beeping on lock / unlock. It is more of a beep than a chirp. It is not loud and annoying like alarm systems that chirp the main siren or horn when locking / unlocking.

That price is from eight years ago, it was not correct at that time though as there was some confusion over the replacement for the OEM original part number and the price as I recall.
To get the true picture you cannot just look at one post, later posts talk of higher prices.

I know this is a pretty old thread but I recently ordered a Mercedes siren #1718205326 off an 08 CLK 350/550 as a trial and error purchase and it works! Only cost me $30... hope this helps someone.

Looks good, off an old 08, might soon need the internal batteries ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/2Pcs-Ni-MH-Button-Rechargeable-Battery-3-6V-150MAH-PLC-Data-backup-power-2P-1P-/221023510118?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3376071e66 )replaced?

Well, I still have my VIN for my now totaled '08 E350. Might replace the roadster's siren with this one. Thanks... And it won't need batteries...lol. Hell, If I knew this, I would have took the one off the total...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll admit, I had no idea these use internal batteries. I tend to jump before I look. Thanks for the link to fresh batteries.

You say it works, so we can assume that it beeps when you lock and unlock the car?
Just making certain.

What have you done to your SLK32 to get that kind of hp and torque. I have 2005 Crossfire SRT6 and have changed pulleys and flashed computer. I am getting about 325 at wheels, you are getting quite a bit more. My best 1/4 is 12.74 at 111. I will say I have actually had the car to 173 and there's a YOUTUBE video where a guy shows 179mph, not km but mph. It's real video. Somewhere in this forum a really cool dude put together top speed per gear. In 5th gear, 3.07 ring gear and 6300rpm you theoretically could achieve 188mph.
