I thought that perhaps my speakers were covered in gray felt or that they were behind the large grill behind the license plate.

Do all Crossfires have rear speakers?

All 04's and all Limited's after that have the rear bass speakers. Just not the base models after 04.

I just found speakers behind the seat but do not think that they are emitting any sound.

Mine is an '05 Limited.

I had previously found your thread and I saved in case I need to follow your instructions.

Where are the rear speakers located? Anywhere in the rear cargo area?

What is behind the grill located under the hatch and behind the license plate?

The only grille that is "behind" the license plate is on the car following you

And if that grill has blue lights in it, it means you have a bad case of lead poisoning in your right foot !!

Cool information about the Kenwood marine stereo. I did not think about that and it looks great. I will add this to my list!

Technically that is in front of the license plate. All joking aside, I think it's for cabin ventilation, probably rubber vents in the rear body work somewhere. All cars have them.

Where are your rear subs located?

I wish that I knew a local Crossfire owner so that we could compare notes !

On the Crossfire it is in the trunk behind the passenger rear wheel and below the rear light.

Yep, perfect picture. I would assume the grille pictured in the rear interior trim is what allows cabin air to get back to those vents.

I appreciate the photo with the "skin" removed but I see nothing that looks like a speaker....maybe the rectangular thing below the taillight? I also do not see any speaker grills in my cargo area.

The rear subwoofers are behind the seats, literally, move the seats forward, and there is a small grill behind each seat. There is none from the factory anywhere but the doors and the front of the bulkhead behind the seats. When they are working you feel it in the small of your back.

Thanks for clarifying. I mistakingly thought that onehundred80 was pointing out where the speakers were located! It is nice to finally put that question behind me!

It seems that regardless of how I hook up the wiring there is still no sound coming from the speakers behind the seat

Did you have sound behind your seat before you changed the head unit?
The 6.5 subwoofer behind the seat would pit out low frequencies only.
When I hooked up my kenwood marine 558bt I used the wiring harness adapter and not have to hookup rca's.
I upgraded my factory 6.5 to the pyles, just alittle modification to the basket, makes a difference.
Didn't the base model of 05 and newer not come with the 6.5 subs behind the seat?
