Plasti Dip - Found A Great Place! (Interior Done)
Plasti Dip - Found A Great Place! (Interior Done)
I just wanted to share a great site I found. I was looking for PlastiDip everywhere and have found an awesome Canadian site with great shipping prices. I placed an order and the product came in like 2 days! If you are interested check it out. I highly recommend it – CarDip Canada
I did my interior and it looks great, plus it protects it.
When I get bored I'm gonna peel it off and do another colour. I think Gun metal or White.

What did you use on your shift ****? Any pics? Thanks for sharing.

I used a rattle can of black PlastiDip that I've had in the garage for a couple years. I bought it for a project at work, but never used it.
I gave it three light coats, just enough to give it a wet appearance, and waited 30 min or so between coats. Left it sitting in the vice all night to dry. If you decide to do your manual shift **** don't get it on the threads. You won't be able to get the lock collar back on. Fortunately, it isn't real difficult to peel off, which leads me to think I should go ahead and do the all the silver on the console. Then look for some black SLK window switches. I think the upper switches look good in silver on black, but the window switches look a little out of place. So, does the air bag light though. Might paint over it, and see if it shines through. Same thing with the BIG RED TRIANGLE. I will probably just pull the bulb out of it though.
Not the best pix. I took them with my phone.

They are almost impossible to clean once they get brake dust on them .....
( I learned that they make caliper paint for a purpose )

Just an FYI, I had to peel off my Plastidip Friday. Early last week I noticed what looked like a blister on the front. By Friday it was peeling in a about a 1/2" circle.
Guess I'll just keep looking for a nice leather ****. Thinking about going with auto paint for the console now. It would seem there is just too much movement/wear on the shift **** for this type of material, without sanding and ruining the original finish on the ****.
