Default Hello

We are new to The Forum. We just bought a 2005 Crossfire convertible with 14,000 miles. The battery is only 6 months old and it died twice after sitting for a week or two. The first time we were able to jump start it but we haven't tried to jump start it this time wondering if it might be something else. Any suggestions or information would help. Thanks, Jim and Jen

First off, it is not a good idea to jumpstart these cars, the electronics are very sensitive.
It appears you have a battery drain, not an uncommon thing.
You can find lots of info on that by searching this forum.

Hi guys. Welcome to the forum. Have you checked the alternator?

When you attempt to start the car, does the spoiler raise? This usually indicates a weak battery. After my coupe sits for quite awhile, the car will start but the spoiler might raise telling me the battery is low on charge. The fact that the car can be jump started just means the starting circuit is okay. Unless you drive the car for quite awhile, the alternator won't have enough time to recharge the battery. You may need to get the battery fully re-charged. The fact that the Crossfire Roadster you bought only has 14,000 miles is really good. But it also tells me that the car wasn't driven much and a battery will typically lose its charge with the car sitting a lot.

Forgot to welcome you to our Forum. I know this starting issue is a little annoying right now, but once you get past this, the car will be a lot of fun.
