Default 6 Speed Transmission Conversion for SRT6

I am going road racing in an SRT6, and a six speed will be more suitable for road racing, I believe. Has anyone ever converted an SRT6 to a six speed?

Thanks,

From everything I have heard, the OEM 6 speed is not rated to handle the amount of torque that the SRT6 can generate.

AFAIK the same six-speed is used with a 290hp Pentastar in the Jeep Wrangler so a major issue is probably heat. The hard part would be creating a hybrid program for the computer. Was there a Merc 320SLK mit compressor and manual trans ?

That doesn't surprise me. I assume that's why they didn't offer a six speed SRT6.
Thanks,

Sorry, somehow I posted this in the wrong area, and I don't know how to move it.

If you decide to hang with a automatic,Rudy with Accelerated Industries can build you a awesome trans. He's building a automatic from a V-12 BiTurbo to slip under my SRT-6. Modified valve body with blue top's. Then adding extra clutches to it's longer shaft. Squirrel Crusher

Thanks Squirrel Crusher, that's good to know. That trans should be bullet proof, for sure.
