Default new owner 2 questions

I am a brand new owner of a 2005 xfire which unfortunately did not come with an owners manual? I have a warning light on in the left hand console it is a yellow exclamation point it looks like. Any idea what this is, and when i turn the car on right by the mileage there is a little wrench symbol that come one with a negative number?? Every few days the number seems to be going up, any idea what this is will be sending car in for service but wanted to know what these 2 symbols mean, thanks for the help.

The yellow wrench with the negative number means its over due for service. If the car is brand new with no miles it just should be reset which if you do a search its here.

It may be your low tire pressure warning light. It should give you an idea which tire may be low on air.

The yellow exclamation mark is the tire pressure monitor indicator; when it is lit, one or more of your tires are low and need to be filled (I think it is 32 psi for the XF). One wrench symbol means Service A; two wrenches means Service B. The service periods are calculated by days as well as by miles, so if your car sat on the dealer's lot for a while, you might want to change the oil, and it is also possible that the tires are low from sitting in one place for a long time.

It is the tire pressure monitor but since it is summer time I would fill them up to 30 psi due to the heat of summer driving

Oh and congrats on the new purchase, if you need any tips on cleaning your new baby the detailing section of this site is outstanding.

The TPM on the Crossfire "does not" indicate which tire is low... you have to check them all.

The wrench means your 22 miles over your oil change. I would service it soon. The tire monitor will reset when the tires are inflated/deflated.

The tire monitor light will go off automatically when the proper pressure is detected. Good luck.

Not for anything but if you read my post above I already addressed this. Others have elaborated on it. It measures time and miles. Because of the age of the car it is due. You can either reset it and go the 7,000 miles or have an oil change done now. My advice would be go 1,000 miles and have it changed and reset.

I would bet the car is actually 22 DAYS past service, not miles. The easy way to tell is if it adds one more day each day that passes. That's the way I got my car. It was 56 days past service schedule and went up by one with each day thereafter until I brought it in for service.
