probably one of the latest new 2004
probably one of the latest new 2004
Just want to share with you that this last Saturday I bought my Crossfire coupe. It's a new (almost ironic) 2004 Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic Clearcoat with Dark Slate Gray interior (the way I wanted). It had only 345 miles. Paid 24k. And I'm glad because I wanted a 2004 (leather seats and the european austerity of the first year model - or at least that's my perception). I know it's a car that brings up mixed feelings in people but that's probably why in spite of marketing issues this car will always be more than a car. It may not be the fastest or the most practical one but for sure it has character. Obviously it depends a lot on people's esthetical tastes or previous perceptions about technical beauty or design. But for many of us it probably brings back those boyhood images of exotic fast cars never in our reach. I'm sure they involved a lot of engineering and design in this car but looking at it I realize now that somebody was also playing psychology with it. Otherwise it's unexplainable why just a simple (!) car can trigger so much love and so much hate in the same time. Usually only a woman can do this in a man.

Re: probably one of the latest new 2004
I was down at the Lake of the Ozarks/Warsaw, Missouri last weekend and saw an Alabaster White coupe parked out front of a Dodge/Chrysler Delaer--It was Sunday and the dealer was closed--Missouri law. I called today an a salesman told me it was a 2004 -- I couldn't believe they still had a 2004 still sitting on the lot, he replied that there has not been much demand for the XF in that part of the state. I asked the price and it was 28k!! He told me with the sticker of 37k, they were able to lower it down to the 28k with all the incentives.
I asked if they would go down to 24k for it and he said they might because it's just a coupe...

I have had this car over a year now. I do not think there is any way you can get an srt-6 for 25k (close to new). Although a few may have been real close. For the most part the srt-6 is going to be at least 8k more then the limited, '04 new or otherwise. I think if you can get an srt-6 under 30k including tax title, etc. then you have done well.

I'm really happy with my new Crossfire, looking forward for a protective film application.
I don't want to sound nasty but I didn't feel attracted to the SRT and at least for a reason: it has only automatic. A fast, sport coupe ONLY with automatic?! Maybe I'm an ignorant but to me it looks like a flower w/o smell or sex w/o love. Or maybe I just prefer to be in control of my engine.

Great choice on the new wheels. Congrats! I've had an '04 Ltd coupe 6 speed (black) for a little over a year now. I love the car, and I know you'll love yours as well. Thinking about getting a XF group drive together here in So. Cal for a trip up the local mountains (Arrowhead/Big Bear). Are you interested?

24k is way too much imo.
