Nice Tony. The first set I had were mounted 1 side strake lower than yours and they were from a Hyundai Tucson. Then I simplified the look of the V6 and went with the Sonata emblem and took it completely out of the side strakes putting it above the strakes and towards the front of the car. That's the way I believe our Mercedes sisters/brothers have their V8 emblems mounted currently.

Don't have them yet but I ordered the Mercedes AMG badge, figures since our engines came out of the AMG factory, might as well.

personal opinion, i wouldn't brag about having a v6 -- that's why mercedes doesn't put v6 emblems on their cars.

That is like putting Cobra badges on a V6 Mustang. To each their own I guess.

So Mercedes doesn't put v6 emblems on their cars because you wouldn't brag about it?
You got some pull...

Only the SRT6 engine is made by AMG. And the SLK32AMG in fact did have a factory "V6 Kompressor" emblem:

Maybe I'm off then. Isn't one of the reasons Mercedes is uneasy about our cars is that the engines are built in the AMG building? Where all of the engines including ours are hand built, balanced and blueprinted? I have read that on a couple different sources.

Here's a quote:
Shorn of its decorative plastic sombrero, this Mercedes engine would look more familiar. It rolls out of the AMG handicraft shop in Affalterbach, Germany, and previously found work in the SLK32 AMG and C32 AMG.

And another!
Coupé mit dem Crossfire Roadster quasi wiedereröffneten, recyceln sie jetzt auch das jüngst entschlafene Topmodell namens SLK 32 AMG.

about as much pull as a low horsepower v6.

as far as the slk32...it also says kompressor, which is something that makes a WORLD of difference. either way noticed how they opted to go the more macho route next time around, hence the v8 in the amg model (which im now considering when i sell this car).

How can you say putting a V6 emblem on a V6 is like putting a Cobra emblem on a V6 Mustang? A V6 is a V6, a Cobra Mustang is not a V6. What am I missing?

he likened the Cobra emblem to putting an AMG emblem on the car, not the V6 emblem --

its funny this thread came around; i just took my V6 emblems off the car this weekend! they were mitsubishi gallant V6 emblems, FWIW.

If that's in fact what he meant I agree. I have no problem with an AMG badge on an SRT6 but not on a normal 3.2 V6. That would be like putting a Z06 badge on a regular C6 (which I saw yesterday at the beach).

we already had a member put those damn srt6 emblems on his engine cover of a non srt6...I'm starting to feel like I'm in a honda forum, not to far from now I'll see a post that's titled "just put some sweet type r badges on my car"...the amg badges on a none amg car is pretty bad in my opinion...the only thing I would consider if I had a fi engine would be the kompressor emblem on the back where I debadged crossfire, but I would have to trial it.

That's my point; if you look at my previous post, you will see my comment was in response to a quote from a member that stated he was putting AMG badges on his non-SRT Crossfire. I have no problem with the V6 badges on the Limited or Base. They are, after all, V6's. Who can argue with that?

People are amazing. First off as far as I can tell from every thing I have read both the SRT6 and regular models are made at the AMG factory. I have not read anything to the contrary. Secondly if they are not AMG engines I won't and would never put an AMG badge on it. I'm pretty new to the Crossfire and didn't know. Be like putting an SS badge on a stock Chevelle. Thirdly: don't get your panties in a bunch, some of us are still learning.

Clem,

Only the SRT-6 engines are manufactured at the AMG factory. If you look at the engine on a Limited or Base model you will not find any AMG markings. If you look at the SRT-6 engine you will see several AMG markings, indicating that it was built by a single technician at the AMG factory. Hope this helps.

Kevin
