Exclamation Power Blackout

Took my black Crossfire Coupe down to the local car wash here in Melbourne, Australia today and had a strange incident.

After it had been through the cycle, the guys came out to me and said there was a problem with the car.

I went to investigate and the whole car's electrics were dead - not a peep.

As part of that, the auto gear stick was stuck in park and wouldn't move, which proceeded to hold up the line of cars going through.

Another car was brought in and with the aid of jumper leads the car started and everything seemed fine except for the ESP/BAS light remaining on in the dash for a little while.

It appeared like a computer freak out or a security thing, rather than a flat battery as it was all fine before and seems fine now.

Anyone have an explanation?

Much appreciated...

Cool Re: Power Blackout

Your tow alarm might have been engaged.

I think you car is telling you it wants to be hand washed by you. LOL.
Never had that happen but I do know the BAS light will come on if you lose power. To reset it start the car and turn your wheels all the way to the right then all the way to the left. After a few seconds the light will go out.

Yeah, it does sound like something to do with the alarm. I believe an incident similar to yours was discussed a while back on the forum. You may want to do a search.

As it turns out, it seems like it was a loose positive battery terminal that was causing the issue.
