Crossfire went bye bye!
Crossfire went bye bye!
After 12 months and a few too many issues, I said goodbye to it tonight for the last time. Since it came out, the H3 was always an interest of mine so I went and looked at them again on Saturday and tonight, took delivery of my 2007 H3x in Desert Sun Metallic with Black/Desert Sun Leather. The car is beautiful in person.

Ha Ha... yeah, it is a big change, however, I never really challenged the Crossfires abilities in curves or power moves by any means... I guess I was a woose, but oh well, this SUV is pretty neet... I am glad I waited for the '07 - they added some HP and a bigger engine.

Yeah, the main reason, and please do NOT flame me for this was the mechanical issues as well as the fact that the car depreciated way more than what I had expected/or was comfortable with. Bought the car 10/28/06 for 30K, 33K with all the taxes and whatever rolled in which come to find out I could have done way better. Lets just say for me to hear the XFire was worth $17,500 was harsh, but I knew because there are still new 04's and 05's out there, that, well, there was not a lot of room for negotiating. I got them up to $18,250 and accepted that I was 10K upside down. Anyhow, I am leasing the H3 and since I work 4 blocks from my apartment I opted for the 10K/yr program and put 4K down. My payment stayed the same and I will be out of auto debt in 4 years instead of 5 now... Never again will I do 72 month financing...

Yeah, I drove an '06 and it was sluggish, but the '07 is a way different set-up. I will have the Air-Raid intake, spacer and Magnaflow pipes on it this weekend, which should add another 25-28 horse... so around 270 HP I am hoping. The color is an H3X exclusive - Desert Sun Metallic and the interior is matched to the outside with Black/Morocco leather. Onstar is amazing... very cool to setup. Only drove the car 6 miles though since last night... I work 5 blocks from home so I hoof it.

Take care brother... I can recall when you came on board with the forum, about the same time I did, I hate to see you go... just promise if you pass me setting on the side of the road broke down in my Crossfire you will stop and pull me in... great looking ride man, have fun with it. hooah.

You are not being a jerk - fortunately, you have no clue of my finances so in reality, its a wash. My payments stayed the same - however, the Hummer will be gone in 48 months where as the crossfire will be paid off in 60. Now at $620 per month, that is around $7,500 in the last year alone that I will have to pay down to have probably at that time what will be a $5,000 car at the end. so why should I pay $7,500 to own $5,000?? You are right, I will not own anything, however, I would rather it be a wash than a loss...

Re: Crossfire went bye bye!
Let me reiterate this a little. If I kept the Crossfire for another 5 years, the car would most likely have 80-90K miles on it. Now, though I am meticulous about maintaining the car, I can not control the mileage/depreciation on the car. When somebody can go and buy a new 2004 or 2005 for $22,000, that hurts the used market. For me to be offered $17,500 for mine, I was shocked, but happy that it was not less. In 5 years and with 90K on it, I am sure the car will be worth between $5K - $7K, and to be honest, I am not willing to drop my pants and get lubed for that kinda stuff.
