Default What's behind the fake side vents?

Can someone post some pictures showing what is behind the faux fender vents. I might just remove them completely if there are no gapping holes or paint to match body color.

Fake air.

I think they're just glued on.

I think I remember them being riveted on...be careful if trying to take them off.

Follow this thread. This has been discussed already. There are other thread on this subject. I'm pretty sure someone has already done this and confirmed they are glued on.

The body panel is solid. Behind the panel on the passenger side is the washer fluid bottle and pump, driver side is an empty hole. The plastic is glued on to the panel and the panel is fully painted.

I will have to do a photoshop experiment to see if it's actually going to look good to remove the plastic streaks.

I've posted this photo several times over the last couple of years in various threads on this topic...

But it won't looks like that Ben. If you look closely, you can see it goes in deeper where the black plastic piece is, so it won't be smooth like that.

I think that's so cool to actually see it without tho. But honestly one of the things I always liked about the crossfire was the side vents. People go crazy trying to put them on there cars and we actually have them. I'm thinking about getting chrome ones or just painting them chrome myself like I did my two bottom grills. For now atleast till I order true chrome ones. Very cool Photoshop tho. Good thinking.

First off, nice photoshop jobs guys. Secondly, I have always liked the vents. Very SL Benz. But as much as I like them, others hate them eqaully. To each his own...

I actually had my drivers side one off and my first thought was there is a lot more going on there than I thought there would be.
LOTS of boby work needed to omit.

If you end up removing them... and want to sell them... I know a buyer!!

(It's me. I'll buy them.)

That is the ONLY reason I still have strakes, and one day, they will be long gone just like my door handles. I still think shaving door handles and strakes would make a car look like a million bucks....

Side scoops or not ????????Hummmmm - CrossfireForum.org Gallery

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

BTW I have painted them matt black to go with the front and hood. Id rather have them muted, could not get a better thought yet though I wanted to shave them off and fill, but being old and having fun .. . . . I dont have the time to play with everything. Sorta like that. WW
