Default CUSTOM Glove Box Trim

I had a couple requests for a polished aluminum piece to fit inside the glove box pull. I've always wanted to cover that area with something and it really makes it look nice now. The piece is made from aluminum and polished to a high gloss. It fits perfectly under the glove box pull and I designed it so it goes up under the glove box pull a small amount so you don't see the top of it. It will come with a piece of 3M double faced tape to apply it. It's a thick enough material that it won't bend. $12 shipped. Below are a few pictures...

Not of this quality. What they sell is plastic for more money.

Like FP said, that's why I started making these parts myself because I bought a trim piece from ebay and it was "chrome" but it was actually plastic with fake chrome over it...I didn't like that so I decided polished aluminum would be the way to go...

i'll probably order one. please keep making them.

i've already put adhesive-backed aluminum there, but it doesn't look as good as that.

I tried machining them out of super thin aluminum but I didn't like the look of it so I ordered some that is thicker so it can't bend...turned out a lot nicer...

I'm going to get one but should I wait for the trim ring we talked about to combine shipping?
Thanks for doing this.

Are you referring to the shifter surround?

I'm interested also, but I want to see what the trim ring looks like.

Ditto, I'll see what else you come up with so I can combine shipping. I love the A/C rings, so I'm excited to see what else you have up your sleeve.

Well a nice trim ring polished like the A/C trim rings would be awesome for the glove box IMO. Also if you can make trim that follows the contour of the little things like the mirror switch. The problem with all the trim out there is that it looks like a flat piece of metal. Looks cheap IMO. It has no contour.

A perfect example is the shifter surround from other companies. It just sits on top of the plastic and looks tacked on. Looks stupid, any trim for the shifter surround should look like a replacement for the shifter surround. In other words no silver peaking out.

Thanks man I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

If you want to keep going, and I hope you do. Here's a website for more ideas.

Thanks FP, some nice ideas...and I will keep going with more parts and I'd be happy to make any custom parts if someone has a good idea... I did finish the glove box trim ring that some people had mentioned...it matches the a/c trim rings and has a lip that fits into the round opening...however the lip isn't enough to hold it because the round opening of the glove box is at a slant...but the lip gives it a cleaner, more factory look...4 small pieces of 3M double faced tape (1 on each side) secures the ring. Here are some pictures...
