Default auto/manual 0-60

No official 0-60 times have yet been released, although most magazines quote a 0-60 of 6.5 seconds but don't say if it is in a manual or auto.

I know the Mercedes SLK 3.2 is slightly faster as an Auto, how about the Crossfire?

I saw a good artical in 'Top Gear magazine' [ UK ] where it beat both the Audi TT 225BHP and new RX8 all were manual. This indicates the time of 6.5 seconds is the manual?

So for the lucky people out there with one parked in their driveway, what are you getting as a 0-60 time? Please mention if Auto or Manual.

I'd like to know the 0-60 for the auto as well.

I'd normally buy a stick, but Atlanta traffic is SO bad. If the auto is quick, I'd really consider it.

I originally bought a 6 Speed, but couldn't stand all the shiffting in traffic so I traded it for an automatic. The 6 Speed would be more fun in the "country" on winding roads in the mountains, but the automatic is a pleasure to drive anywhere. Of course that's my opinion , some say a sports cars has to be manual.

I don't have any official numbers, but I have heard that the Mercedes SLK is faster with the automatic transmission.

I found this test of an automatic......

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/n...x.cfm/id/37688

seems the auto may be just as fast as a manual

How does the Automanual work? Does it give a good driving experience?

The October roadandtrack.com test put the manual at 0-60 of 6.4 seconds and the auto tested on consumer guide had a 0-60 of 6.6 seconds.

It does therefore seem the Manual is quicker. In the SLK the Auto is quicker but I know they have done alot of tweaking to get the 6 speed spot on.
