Default Left Rear Subwoofer ... Blows

In the past 2 years, my Infinity system has blown 2 left rear subwoofers. The numerical volume numbers are 1 - 40. As an old x rocker, i play the volume at 33...still like my music LOUD!!. Any ideas or suggestions??

Question Re: Left Rear Subwoofer ...Blows

The implied message that I was attempting to convey was... since the system is of factory design, it would seem logical to assume that the level of purported volume would not induce failure ...

My left rear is also blown. I also prefer 30+ volume level. What did you do to fix? Do you have a source for replacement speakers?

Short of waiting for an OEM to pop up on Ebay or here...

jummireham: I have not done anything to attempt to "fix" this problem. I've replaced the speakerand have not had a blow in the last 4 months. Hopefully, the problem "fixed" itself. I do not have a concrete source for replacement speakers.Heretofore, I've called dealerships who have access to other dealers that have speakers(found my last one in Missouri) Good luck...Carl

I have not looked into aftermarket substitute since the OEM speaker is housed in a bracket...

In case max is not around soon, I can answer that.
Max's CAI is hand tooled by the head honcho of the Auburn University Particle Acceleration Laboratory.
( and that would be maxcichon hisself )

ala_xfire: This question is probably rhetorical in nature...Is there any "way" to get one of these??

If there is, I haven't found it, and I've been bugging him for almost 3 years now.
I did, however, talk him into bead blasting and black crinkle painting me a set of valve covers - see my gallery.
If you are interested in that, he has my old set he's gonna do pretty soon.
He's going to do them black again, unless requested otherwise.

I can provide a partslist of components. The 3" y-pipe I had to make from (2) 90 degree elbows, cut and welded. All the rest is off-the-shelf and cut to fit.

Of course I'm happy with it, but yours is much prettier and probably more efficient ( sorry Rob, forgive me for transgressing )

Besides, you told me you would never do another set, remember ?

Dragon ?
