Rear-ended
Rear-ended
There we were minding our own business sitting at a red light and bam, van smashed into the rear of my crossfire. After the trip to the hospital with the wife with neck, back and arm pain. We went back to the car, with the wife in pain and a neck brace on. Driving up to the car, it did not look bad. At closer inspection I see the muffler was drove 2 feet forward under the car. Both quarter panels above the rear tires are crinkled and there is no space between the driver’s door and rear quarter panel. There is something leaking under the car and it sounds like the exhaust manifold on the driver side is cracked. I measured the distance between the front tires and the rear tires. Driver side 68 ¼ inches and passenger side 70 inches.
So what should I point out to the adjuster and repair shop to ensure it is put back to the condition it was before the wreck? The car had such a nice ride before the wreck, whether you are going 35 or 135 mph. I do not want to worry about how the car is going to handle when I feel like giving it a little gas on the highway or take a turn a little on the fast side.

Re: Rear-ended
sorry for your loss...its time for a new one I'm afraid...parts are hard to find...and your car is twisted, so the repair costs more than the car is worth...totalled for sure....I wouldn't want it back anyway...too many nice ones for sale to start over with....the black SRT6 is just like new...19.5 isn't the best price out there, but it does have low mileage...if you don't care about the mileage, there are a few SRT6 out there in the 16k area as well....
Re: Rear-ended
Thank you all for your wishes for my wife’s speedy recovery, she is feeling much better, still sore but better. Well you all were right on! TOTALED is the word of the day. The insurance adjuster said $4000 but when they opened it up, he changed his mind, they didn’t want anything to do with it, so it’s car shopping for me.
