Re: urgent input required guys
Chrysler warranties can only be transfered ONCE. so, if you'll be the 3rd person, it can't be transfered. Also, Chrysler warranties are usually for 7 years, starting from the "in-service date" not the year of the car. Some cars sat for a year or two, before purchase. So, if your "in-service date" is 11/25/04 (just as example), ANY Chrysler Warranty (transfered or newly purchased now) WILL EXPIRE on 11/25/11....
First thing to find out therefore, is the cars insevice date from a Chrysler dealer. They have that by way of the Vin Number...

If you're buying the car from Carmax, they don't sell Chrysler warranties. They only sell their warranty.
If you buy it from them, you may have a bailout time that you can cancel that warranty. If so, take your car to a Chrysler Dealer, and talk to the waranty people there. They will find your inservice date, and see if they can write up a waranty and then see what it costs, and when it will expire. Make your decision then about what is best for you. But don't wait too long to get the Chrysler one, because of the variance in inservice date and expiration date. That's about all I can help you with ..... Good luck
