A bright spot for Daimler is that the Chrysler Group, after losing billions of dollars since merging with DaimlerBenz in 1998, is finally starting to show signs of sustaining a comeback. The company, which reported its fourth consecutive quarterly operating profit, has been boosted this year by its most substantial wave of new products since the merger. Sales of the company's new Chrysler 300C sedan and its Dodge Magnum wagon are creating buzz in vehicle categories that had been long overshadowed by sport utility vehicles.
