Default Tire pressure

The tire pressure light came on this morning. I was near the dealership so I pulled into the service department and asked them to check psi. Each tire was 5 to 8 lbs under inflated!
Guess we should not rely on the psi indicator light? A visual inspection does not work either.
I have no idea how long the tires have been under inflated, but I have had terrible MPG and now the car rides a lot better. I'll be going to the auto parts store to buy a good tire gauge. The Michelin Pilot Sports are too expensive to ignore good maintenance.
By the way, the service advisor at the dealership didn't know much about the Crossfire...he didn't know how to get the car into reverse. Scary! On second hand maybe that's a good theft deterent.

The indicator works great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I rely on it, but not as a replacement for general maintenance checks.

Look at it this way.... if it hadn't come on you would have been replacing tires much earlier while continuing to spend more on fuel. With $300 a piece tires you need to be doing regular checks on treadwear, as well as pressure checks on at least a seasonal basis. The monitor won't tell you if your alignment is bad, a wheel is out of balance or if the tires are overinflated so you need to get down there and look!

Default Tire Pressure

I washed my wheel by hand last wednesday.
The next morning I started the car and the tire pressure stayed on.
I took my tire guage and checked all four tires.

32 lbs all around.
I work 17 miles from my house.

The tire pressure went off after i had driven 15 miles ( about 2 miles from work ) and has not stayed on for more than a few seconds after I start the car.

I called my service dept and left a message. No return call yet.
I'll call then again and see if they know what may have caused it.

It could have been from the water ( but I have been in rain storms several
times ( Humble Texas Just north of Houston ) and never had this problem.

I may have hit the sensors with my wash rag or hand.

Anyone esle had this problem????

Thanks oldcruiser
