Winter tires for the crossfire
Winter tires for the crossfire
I see Dunlop started making the winter sport M3 is sizes that fit OEM wheel sizes. Since I'm in the northeast (NJ) and we do get snow and last winter my car was truely aweful in snow, sleet and frost. I'm thinking about buying a set of these but I'm not sure whether to remove the Michelins for winter or buy a set of new wheels for these snows. I'm concerned about scratching the OEM wheels everytime I swap the tires. Also damaging the tires swapping them. What does everyone think?? :?: :?: :? :?
I also live in NJ and for the last 1.5 years I have been unable to locate and purchase any used spare rims. My wife was so uncomfortable driving this last winter she insists I find her a solution. Since time is running out, I'll try any new 18 and 19 inch snow tire or have to go buy 2 new 18 inch rims for the rear and then buy 4, 18 inch snow tires for this winter.
i would say that if you live where you get snow, the main thing is don't have the standard tires for the crossfire. we are getting the all season tire option, which i think will help out quite a bit - though it's still a rwd sport car. as for buying additional tires, i wouldn't worry about scratching. as long as you're not wreckless you should be ok. good luck.
