Default CDs Jumping During Playback

I am finding that my CDs are jumping when I am travelling at high speeds (120+) on bumpy roads (for example reaching the bottom of a hill when the car bottoms before going back up).

Is this to be expected under these conditions, or is my stock CD player at fault?

as far as i know, no cd player in any car should ever skip. unless chysler decided to be extremely cheap, i see no reason why it should skip. i've been in trucks off road that don't skip!

Mine has an Infinity stereo/cd player and it is awesome. I just wish it were one of those 6 in dash systems. The sub woofers behind the seats are the best stock ones I've ever heard!

I think if you bottom out the car at that speed and you were singing, you would skip.

Berklund,
Being that he's from England, that (120+) might be km/h.

We use mph in the UK. The rest of mainland Europe uses kph.

Default cd slipping

English, I did not know that. Thanks to our government 20+ years ago we switched to metric distance and speed. The U.S. was suppose to at that time but the natives put up such a stink the government backed down. Only in Canada you say.
We have a combination of Metric/Imperial weights, our lumber is measured in imperial. Our cars have to be metric. In Quebec you have to be French first and in some cases French only.

Why did the U.K. stay imperial when the rest of Europe is metric?
Stupid question, probably for same reason you stayed with the # rather than the Euro?

The whole world is mixed up pretty good!

Without going into too much detail, we tend to use a combination of Imperial and Metric measures for different things. Some things are mandated from Europe, some changes to Metric are driven ourselves.

Distances for motoring tend to be miles first, kilometres second, so speed would usually be quoted in mph rather than kph, but many lengths are now quoted in metric.
Height is usually 'spoken' in Feet and Inches, but on your passport it is record in cm.
Large weights tend to be in tons or tonne, but most people measure their weight in stones and lbs.
Food and drink are now bought and sold in metric first, (imperial second if you are lucky).
Fuel is sold in litres, but fortunately our pint of beer is as yet unaffected.
Engine displacements are metric.
We use the GB Pound rather than the Euro as our economy never quite aligned with the economies of France and Germany (who really run Europe through Brussels), and each government who considered this feared they would not get elected.

I'm fortunate enough to have been at school when we decimalised our Imperial measurements so learning to convert to metric is fairly straightforward. I don't expect my kids will learn the 'older' measurements.
