Has anyone noticed how many people almost run into you or have an accident because they are too busy looking at your Crossfire and not where they are going? We are constantly getting people veering into us because they are too busy looking at the car. Anybody else have that problem?

Yes I'm sure it's happened to all of us!
I had a guy in a truck almost run into me because he wanted a closer look.
Another time I was on the highway and this guy was on my right ready to get off the highway...well....the off ramp started to curve left and away from the highway.....he...on the other hand was still GOING STRAIGHT and into the grass!!
Now that had to me embarrassing for him!!

Fun320.....couldn't put it any better.

About 2 months ago my Wife and I were run of the road and flipped our Sebring JXi over with the top down. The driver never stopped and left us for dead chassis side up. Now people are paying more attention to our Xfire Roadster than the road. We have had numerious near misses. I have seen people almost hit other cars while looking at our Xfire Roadster. I now have to be extremely observant while driving. Below are pics from the Sebring accident, My Wife and I were extremly lucky to walk away with only minor injuries.

I must say I do enjoy the attention that our cars draw, but it is now getting dangerous.

That's crazy!!!!
I can't believe that windshield curled down so far! I always thought they were reinforced enough where they would still stay up a little even when rolling over.

I think the Angel you 2 have is a keeper!! Glad you are both ok after that!

Hi Chilli,
We are in St Peters, way over the other side. We deal with Chatswood Chrysler Jeep who have been really good. We've bought 2 PT's from there too (one for us one for a friend who lives in Berowra).

If you're interested, there is a mystery cruise on next Saturday night with the Camaro/Firebird club meeting from 7 at parramatta pool. Crossfires are always welcome at our PT club runs too. There is a show and shine on the 14th at Newcastle foreshore (info is on our PT forum at www.ptcruisers.com.au/forum)

Not sure if our Crossfire is going to get to the next 2 runs as some moron rear ended us yesterday in Newtown too busy looking at the car finally getting a real close look . We got out and saw his Mitsubishi Magna (a rental of course!) crumpled up real bad and thought the worse for our car. To our surprise all we had were a few bad scapes on the rear bumper. Wot a little tuffie the Crossfire is.

MI,

I was also surprised at how the windshield curled. But we also slammed into 3 large trees. Our guardian angel was definately on duty that day. What actually saved us from severe injury, was the position we where found in. My wife and I both had on our seat belts, we were found curled up in a fetal position under the air bags in the floor boards with our seat belts still on. Now figure that one out, if the air bags had kept us in an upright position, I think we would have not survived.

Hi David,

My car goes in to see the Lee brothers (Panel Beaters) on the 8th ... I may see you there!!!
I also bought my car from the Chrysler Chatswood dealership although I have a slighly different opinion of them! I would love to catch up at a meet when you car is all fixed.

Ben.

Yes, everytime I see someone pull along side me looking out of their window at the car I get worried. Someone nearly ran into the back of me yesterday, I could see in my rear-view mirror the driver pointing out my spoiler going down to his passenger. I was obviously slowing down for it to go down, but he wasn't slowing down! Scared the hell out of me and him when he suddenly had to slap his brakes on.

O.K. "bingle" must be an Aussie term.
Please explain. (I'm guessing it's a "dent"?)

G'day Dave,

Yep ... I reversed into a 2.5 foot kerb in the city. Lightly scratched the back bumper on one side.
It's a good excuse to get some of the other trim painted aswell.

That is the risk one takes with owning a convertible. Even in a side impact a convertable is much less safe (less rigidity) as compared to a coupe. In the rare event of a rollover, you're really in trouble. You guys were extemely lucky. Did you lean forward or lay over or something?

My XFire has caused two rear-enders. Both were caused by cars pulling into parking lots when the lead car stops to look and the car following is looking too. So far no one has hit me but, have had several near misses.....
