Exclamation tire problem

Well It finally happened I got my first flat and it cost me a new tire. I tried to use the tire fit solution provided with the crossfire but it still wouldn't hold air. Managed to limp in to a tire place and had to buy a new tire as getting there ruined any chance of saving the tire. The only good news is that they had the right size It is a Fuzion tire and only cost 160.00 installed (included balancing taxes etc). I am really glad this did not happen out in the middle of nowhere.

Unhappy Re: tire problem

so now you have two types of different tires are your crossfire? personally this would drive me nuts. my tires have to match as a complete set of 4...pairs don't even cut it imo.

i understand you were in a pickle but i would buy 3 more fusions or 1 new factory like tire.

maybe it's just me and my 2 cents.

Thumbs down Re: tire problem

Willie,

Count your blessings that you were near a tire shop. My biggest worry with our cars is the probability of getting a flat. DChrysler should have given us a "Run Flat Tire Option", I would have gladly paid for this option.

Do you guys not have the wheel/tire insurance package? Maybe it was something only offered on a dealer to dealer basis. I pay $10 extra per month for extra coverage of my wheels and tires. Should I receive any damage to my wheels or tires, my dealer will replace them at no cost to me. This is, of course, providing I don't intentionally cause the damage myself.

I wish this had been available to me. I would have jumped on it. I feel pretty lucky I didn't do any damage to the rim. That would have been really expensive.

TSaxMan,

Was the extra coverage for tires and wheels, issued through DChrysler? I own my Roadster out right, was the extra coverage only offered on cars that were leased and or financed? My current insurance carrier does not offer this type of coverage. Sounds like a good package to have, I will do some research.

Expensive is a relative term. Seems like a lot of people would have liked to see some more upscale things on it,including me, but we drive it and love it anyway!

This was issued through DCX. When I signed my lease the finance manager asked if I wanted extra coverage for an additional $10. Since the rear tires are like rubber bands and those wheels are cheap, I took it. With Michigan roads as crappy as they are, you never know when you might hit a pot hole and break something. I'd call your dealer and ask about it. It might prove itself to be a worthwhile investment.

$160 Lucky you: just found a screw embedded in the side of my rear tyre (proper English) cost £312.00 fitted ($565.00)

Wow, that's crazy! Was that just for a new mounted tire, and not a new wheel?
