Default Door Lock Problems

Ok. So I thought it was a fluke when I was on the way home getting my car and stopped at Bob Evans. It was raining so hard and I couldn't get into the driver side door. It was unlocked but would not open. I used the key, and did everything known to man but couldn't get in.

I had to crawl from the other passenger side.

This has happened about 10 more times since then. I can not figure out why. I didn't know if I was doing something wrong like not waiting long enough before unlocked (i know it can't be the case because the passenger door and hatch both open)

Guess it is time to take it in to be fixed. I'll also get that one squeek looked at and maybe the wind noise on driver side as well.

thanks.

Wow, that's a new one. Can you open the door from the inside after you get from the pass. side?
If so, sounds like an exterior door handle problem.

Keep us informed.

yes the door opens from the inside.

it is weird, the handle does not feel like it is broken at all.

It might be something as simple as a connection between the inside of door handle and the unlockiing mechanism has broken off or simply just become disconnected. The dealer will probably have to remove inside door panel to get at it.

Keep us informed.
