Question Reseting the service indicators

Ok, I read here how to reset the little flashing tools that tell you how long you have until you need service. I had service and the dealer did not reset it. I read here to hold down the "****"~~~stupid question coming~~~what ****? I held down the little **** that resets the odometer. Is that the one you are talking about? Nothing happened when I did that and I see nowhere in the manual how to do it.

HELP!

thanks in advance!

To reset:
Press the button, left of display/drivers door side, once (key in on run position)
Press thesame button twice with the key removed or in the OFF/ACC position.

That shoud do it.

Well that didn't work. I assume you mean the little **** that resets the odometer but nothing happened when I tried your insructions. All it did was set the reading on the trip odometer back to zero. I have looked in the manual and see nothing about how to reset it. Any other ideas?

I reset mine today using instructions I got off this site--not the ones above. Unfortunately, my wife stole my car to go to a meeting, so I don't have them available. Try a search. If you can't find it, repost tomorrow, and I will get them out of the car and repost. BTW, it took a couple of tries to get it to work--three hands would have been better!

I got instructions off this site from another post too, but that didn't work either. I don't want to be bothered even calling the dealer for help. I will figure this out. Please post your instructions tomorrow.

Thanks!

The counter may be reset by any individual after the indicated service has been performed.
1. Turn the key to the on run position
2. Within one second press the **** left of the display (trip odometer reset) twice
3. The present status for days remaining or distance traveled is displayed. Within ten seconds turn the key to off.
4. Press and hold the same **** while turning the key to the on/run position. the same as # 3 above appears again - aften about ten seconds, a tone sounds an the displays shows 6,000 miles for ten seconds.
5. Release the ****.

All of the above from the Service Manual - If this does not work -- ?????

I went outside with the manual and closed the door when I got in the car and low and behold worked first time! Could it have anything to do with the fact that the many times I tried before, the car door was OPEN???

The shop manual says nothing about the door open or closed - but could be.

lmf's instructions worked for me. Took me at least four tries to make it work. I think you just have to be fast. BTW, my door was closed.
