Cheapest way to make it sound better?
Re: Cheapest way to make it sound better?
Muffler delete, shop can weld a Y-pipe in its place with the original muffler tips. I ran this for about 50,000 miles, cost about $55 for the shop to do. Sounds like a tractor at low RPM and lots of decel. pops. I have a MR muffler (super cheap) that I'll have put on soon, need to bring it down a notch.
Re: Cheapest way to make it sound better?
Can't share that opinion. I think the Crossfire sounds awesome stock and love the sound of V6 engines. Heard many aftermarket exhaust "tunes" (Borla, Magnaflow etc.) and I truthfully think stock sounds just fine and there is definitely no need to change the exhaust for me. Besides, I love the way the original exhaust tips look like and can't stand the "round exhaust tip" versions out there for some reason...makes the rear look lame.
Personally, I love the deep rumble of a V8. That's impossible to replicate with a 90 degree V6. You can get closer with an inline-6 though.

Hey sound is totally up to perception and taste. I can totally see how to some the standard exhaust isn't their cup of tea. Let us know what you are going to do and go for!
Re: Cheapest way to make it sound better?
well, the original question has been answered if you can find a muffler shop that can remove the rear cats for under 100 bucks, then there you go.... a different sound. I like those electronic sound devices.... I could fool you all into thinking Rudy built me a V-8......lol
