HELP! My Crossie is turning into Christine
HELP! My Crossie is turning into Christine
So, I locked up my car, as usual and walked to the house. Several minutes later I saw the lights flashing on the car. Went outside to see what was up and then the flashing just quit. Then it did it again. I locked & unlocked the car thinking that would stop the lights flashing. Went back in house. Car alarm then went off with lights flashing, etc. So, ok, this is getting weird....so I went outside yet again, got inside the car, started it, noticed the temps were 28C inside (that's pretty warm) and moved the car to the shade. She seemed to like that and has been quiet ever since. Wondering if I should rename her to Christine, after the horror show car. What the heck was all the fuss about? Are these cars THAT sensitive to heat? She is used to being in a garage & covered up, but geesh. Any ideas?

Hmmm....do you mean the key fob? Or something under the hood? Thank you!

This one needs a lot more info to maybe track down. If there isn't water in the rear well submerging the central locking module, then I might suspect RFI/EMI. There has been a few instances where high electro magnetic interference (EMI) or high radio frequency interference (RFI) made the lights flash on and off. Once, it happened to my car just a few hundred yards off Shaw AFB. Another member (military active duty) also reported the same type symptoms near the base he was at. Like I said, we need more information. The key FOB batteries being bad will not do this (lights flashing). The batteries in the alarm horn usually only makes the alarm sound like its on crack (cricket on crack). The car battery being bad usually manifests itself in starting/spoiler issues so I think you should check your right rear lower 'trunk' compartment for water. We can go on from there.
