Gary,
I've reserved my room for the event, getting parking access sorted as well. Sent you note about BBQ @ Lisa's home Friday (will be there).

Thanks again for organizing this!

Hello all,
Glad you will all be attending the BBQ and the weekend at Woodward
I have sent a PM with Lisa's address to all who have responded for attending the BBQ
It is about a 25 minute drive to Lisa's house from our hotel in Auburn Hills.

The BBQ at Lisa's house is set for 6pm on Friday August 14th
Lisa will provide the main grilled food for the BBQ
Please bring your own beverage of choice
Rain or shine the food will be bought so be sure to join us either way.

If you feel inclined to bring a side dish/item please send a PM to Lisa first.

msxfire to send Lisa a PM

Any other questions feel free to send a PM to me as well

See ya in about a month

Gary

Gary,

I will be a first-timer at this event, IF I go. (Yes, I still have not made up my mind....) So, am I to understand we stay at the same hotel both Friday and Saturday night? That is, most of us will stay there both nights, given the long day?

I'd like to stay at a HHilton property as it would be free to me, but I don't want to 'suffer' in traffic that morning, so I CERTAINLY will stay with you all at the host hotel for Friday night and probably Saturday too -just to be part of the group.

This will mean taking off at least Friday from work, but other than that, looks like an easily-done trip to me. I'd like to get the car signed as well.
If I attend, I will be at the Bar-B-Que for sure.

(The hospital job I mentioned early on is off the table, so I'll be driving the "new" car up if I go.)

Yes Mark All of us that are from out of town stay at the Marriott in Auburn Hills Friday and Saturday night
All the info is back in post #1 of this thread Also be sure to mail the form to get your parking pass (pdf file post #1)
I think you would enjoy this event although it is a long trip up for you for a relatively short weekend.
Did you see the plan for a post Woodward event leaving Sunday morning ?
You might be able to fit that into your return trip home as well
I am planning to extend my weekend and go with the others
See the previous posts by Harbor
Let me know when you decide your final plan
Gary

Mark - If your preference is Hilton, there's one right around the corner from the Marriott.

Valk & others, I am up from Florida for the Summer, staying in Berkley MI. I just bought an SRT-6 Roadster, Aero Blue, two weeks ago. It is the one that Ray Laethem Chrysler-Jeep in Grosse Point MI. had for sale. I would like to join your group in Memorial Park for the Dream Cruise weelend. I just sent the $40 to Sandy Millard, so add me to your list, but I will not be attending the BBQ. Also, who do I contact about joining the local XF Facebook group? I am a member of the Central Florida XF FB group. There's more, does anyone know who the previously owner of my XF is? I got the CarFax paperwork (Roseville MI owner) but, of course, no previous owner information is given. I'll post the VIN if that helps. Looking forward to meeting You. Thanks, Glen.

I am not too familiar with this, I have heard of it, but never really looked into it. Pittsburgh is really not that far from Detroit, I have driven there for a wedding and back the same day. Where can I find more details? And am I too late?

Thanks, I more meant about the event itself, which I did look up since, thanks again.
This sounds pretty interesting, and a nice way to meet other Crossfirers, Crossfirians, Crossfironians? What ever we are called.

Hello Glen,
Your local Facebook group for Michigan is the Great Lakes Crossfire Owners

A few of us might be parked for a short time in Memorial Park on Friday afternoon so feel free to come by and introduce yourself if you can
but Saturday is the main day for us in the park and the Dream Cruise weekend.
If you want to be parked with the other Crossfires on Saturday....
Memorial Park requires us to all be "together" once entering the park in order to be parked together.
We have not set a time to leave the hotel and enter the park yet but most of us gather at the Marriott in Auburn Hills and cruise down Woodward to Memorial Park on Saturday morning
It would be best if you come to the hotel by 8am on Saturday morning to be a part of the group from the start of the day.
Most likely you will find a number of Crossfires in the parking lot and soon to see us out there too Saturday morning.

Courtyard Detroit Auburn Hills
2550 Aimee Lane
Auburn Hills, MI
48236.

If parking with us in the group is not a priority you still of course will be allowed to enter the park once in the morning with your parking pass but will not necessarily be allowed to proceed to where the group of us is parked.
Just take a walk around and you will find us in there somewhere
The park is said to hold 800 cars at capacity so that right there is a lot to see in itself.

Looking forward to meeting you

Gary

Hi Glen, I'll add you to the local Great Lakes Crossfire Owners group (GLCO) now and welcome.

With the new parking policy what are there provisions if some of us want to leave to cruise then get back to the same spots?

Or are we landlocked for the entire day?

When I re-read my previous post .. it may be a bit misleading
"you will be allowed to enter the park at anytime with your parking pass"
You are only allowed ONE entry on Saturday morning

The only thing new this year is entering as a group to be parked as a group when first arriving in the morning.
There has always been the restriction on SATURDAY ONLY that if you choose to leave the park anytime once there you can not re enter the park at all.
This is for the safety of all the pedestrians walking throughout the park and also due to the high volume and close proximity of 800 cars on display.
This is printed on the contract/application form that you sign and mail with your payment

This rule of leaving and reentering the park DOES NOT apply to Friday due to a lower volume of attendance I suspect

Tentative plan is to leave the hotel Sunday for Port Clinton, Ohio where we would take the ferry to Put-in-Bay island for lunch. After lunch, a leisurely drive on US 6 & 2 along the water to downtown Cleveland. Dinner there (probably at one of the spots on 4th street).
After breakfast Monday morning, a short walk to the Hall of Fame. http://rockhall.com/event/sonic-sess...-the-business/
Depart after lunch.

Right now we have two cars interested and all are welcome.

Well make it three cars. Tentatively
Thanks, Ken
