Have any of you asked your insurance co. how they look at having the car on the track?
The reason I ask is because my agent and I were discussing coverage availability during timed competition events like autocross or on a race track. Some companies have it some don't. Her answer was anything on track is not covered. To which I asked... What about parade type things on track, not timed, not a competition just driving on track for pre-race ceremony or parade type thing? She took that question to an adjuster who answered, "it's a grey area, best not be on a track of any kind if there were a claim." REALLY?
Have any of you encountered that?

Nope, never. This is a heavily regulated event by Texas Motor Speedway. It is not a race and no passing is allowed. Supposedly several years ago a Corvette group got stupid and there was an incident where a bumper was left on the track. For groups after that incident, TMS slowed down the speeds.
It's all about the fun with safety first

I have had serious thoughts of attending this year, but I am trying to find some information as to the event itself. I read all the post and watched the video. It appears as though they all run at once, alongside a pickup truck. I read in one post a guy said he was on the high banks doing 85 mph. I have driven through downtown Nashville going faster than that. I want to drive at my own pace, and not just sit in a pack. Is the video a good representation of what it is like? Where is the schedule of events?

How high is the banking in in Nashville on those roads? LOL.
We were running 110 mph on CAA4 down in Texas.. which ended on TMS weekend - but was still a whole new ball game of fun on that track.
And a pace truck doesn't run along beside you.. typically one in front of the field of cars and one pretty much in the rear.

I have reached up to 125 n my srt6 but just for a moment ,you have to fall back and put some distance between u and the cars ahead ,also watch the pace trucks on the sides and always try to stay ahead of them if you can, time it right and you have got decent brakes you will get above 100, When catching back up with pack i will stay to left are right of the car in front of me, where i can come up beside them in case my breaks fail, so as not to rear end them.

Up to the that date the track marshals had only a track car at the front, which allowed individual cars to hold back and have space to accelerate momentarily up to approx. 100 to 110 mph. After the viper experience the Track Marshals located a car at the front and rear, and sometimes one in the middle. When we hit the track they put us in groups of approx. 8-10 cars, and we do 4-5 laps. After these laps you can do a further set of laps for an additional cost. Remember this is not a race, just a way of us getting together and enjoying each others cars. After the laps you can purchase a picture of you and your car in the Winners Circle for $10, ALL going to Childrens Charities. This event used to take place Twice a year but now sadly only once. We generally all stay in the Motel 6 at a discounted price, and our Pool Parties are a great event also, enjoying each others company and talking Crossfires. Just come Join us and have some fun, you will NOT regret it.

Guess you need to put Dennis and Pat down for another go round. Since I came in 1st last year With "Texas T "pushing me I thought I might get a automatic registration, but guess that didn't happen. Glad to see that Bob is coming also. Looking forward to seeing U-all again. Thanks, D&P

I will update the OP with this link, but you may now pre-register. If you pre-register, it will be $40 instead of the $50. https://texas.speedwaycharities.org/.../registration/
