Welcome and Congrats!!!

The side louvers are held on with double sided tape can be removed with dental floss or fishing ling and a little "Goo Be Gone". Question...why are you removing them and what would you replace them with.

Thanks for the info! I only have a base roadster and really like the chrome louvers. Any other suggestions ? I wanted the limited, however am trading a restored '54 Bel Air for a new 2005 roadster, the dealer/owner loves old cars and wanted to trade, the roadster only has 136 miles, so how could I pass it up since the crossfire is one of my dream cars!

Is your '54 a convertible?

You can purchase the chrome covers and fit them over the existing ones.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the info. Is one parts supplier preferred over the other as far as quality, shipping and price ?

All the parts that are sold are from the same manufacturer in Germany "GAP" and of the same quality, but you will save on shipping if you order from Autoxclusive or Chrome-tec.

How do you remove the black plastic gills underneath the silver louvers? I'd like to remove these and the louvers to refinish them.

Attempting to remove these without understanding how they are held on is asking for trouble. They have three hidden clips that go in holes in the fender as well as sticky tape to stop them flapping around. See the photos for details. There are other threads on this and I advise you to search them out. It is best if you remove or drop the rear fender liner and pinch the fasteners barb from the inside or you will snap them off and then have to totally rely on 3M tape to keep them on.

Thanks, that's why I asked first. Another thread I read said nothing about those plastic barbs in your pic. I just need to touch up the paint on one, so I think I'll probably leave them in place and mask around them.
