Check Your Fog Lights
Check Your Fog Lights
While washing my 2006 Ltd Roadster I noticed the drivers side fog light had a small piece broken off. On closer inspection the fog light bulb had broken and the "deflector cap" ( a small circular piece about the size of a quarter) had broken off and was lying within the fog light assembly. It was a 60 degree sunny day in Oregon so I decided to put the top down and drive into the dealership. They took one look and said " ohh yea those were recalled, we'll have to change em both out." Which they did with a newly designed brighter bulb. I'm now the proud owner of two new fog light bulbs with no deflector cap, at no cost to me. I still have a year and a half left on my warranty, but think due to the recall it wouldn't matter. So check em if you got em.

Do yourself the favor of keeping the new ones looking new. I just had new headlight housings installed and won't drive it until the dude comes to my house to do the work. He's driving 30 miles and will charge me $15 for the labor! Heckuva' deal.
I had the fogs replaced recently and will polish them before the film goes on.

Re: Check Your Fog Lights
Sorry to say, but you are right "No plastic lenses" are covered with MaxCare. the only TSB I can find is for condensation:
TBS: 13-Jan-05 - 08-002-05 - Lighting - Condensation in Headlamps
And even that won't be covered after the 3/36 goes by. Are they good enough to polish out? With just elbow grease they can be made to look really great. Unless the problem is on the inside. I would take them out, do the wetsand and polish routine and see how good they are.
Just my two cents, but it may be worth a try?
