Default HELP - Wierd Noise

The latest problem with my car is the AC unit. The AC unit runs perfectly as it should. The problem is when I turn it off either by the switch or if I turn the engine off while it is running. I hear a crackle and clunk. It practically shakes the dashboard. It almost sounds like the blower is slowing down and rattling because it is out of balance. It makes the noise for a couple of seconds and that is it. I think it also makes the noise when I first turn the fan on but it is very faint.

I am going to work on it this weekend. I checked the dust filter and found leaves in there. My next step is to check the blower itself. Could this be noise be caused by leaves and junk in the blower? Tips on how to solve this problem would be great! And tips on how to take the blower out would be even better. That way I know what I am doing before I start taking things apart.

Thanks.

This doesn't sound like the other problem noise in that area, kinda like a circuit opening and closing for a short time. Either like you say you've got debris in the fan or something else. Clean as best you can and see what happens. I don't recall ever hearing anything here like what you are describing. Let us know - Pat
