I bought one off of ebay for 30.00 plus shipping last year. Search on ebay "chrysler crossfire covertible top" and the part should show up.

I selected the "make an offer" for $30.00 and they accepted it so with shipping it was cheaper than the asking price.

the top goes down perfectly, no issues. However, when raising the top it goes all the way back up but the back end does not do the final latching back on the trunk. The back is all the way down but doesn't latch. i lightly press down on it and it latches, then i press the close button and it beeps for completion.

Any ideas on what could be the problem with that last step of the process??

There is a top reset procedure. Has it been run?

aloha.crossfire,

Have you checked the fluid level in the pump? The pump is in the left rear of the trunk.

The RST controller (roadster soft top controller) gets readouts from the micro switches in all the various positions of the top. When you put up the top, the storage cover aka tonneau cover will latch first behind your seats. When that step is completed, the controller gets a signal that the lock is closed and it lets the rear bow (rear window portion) go down. There should be a signal coming from one of the bow tension cylinders that the rear bow is down and thus pressurizing the rear bow lock cylinder to latch as soon as the prong enters the rear bow latch. The rear bow latch is designed such that the cylinder cannot close it without the rear bow prong being in it.

When the rear bow is down, just before you push on it, is the pump still running? After you pushed on it lightly and you hear a beeping because the cycle isn't complete, is the pump still running?

To get rid of the beeping, until you find the cause for the malfunction, you can lock the rear bow latch manually with a 6mm Allen wrench. The lock is accessible from the trunk. Turn counter-clockwise to lock.

aloha.crossfire,

It has been over a week since you posted your question. I hope your problem has been resolved. It is important for the forum to have closure on questions asked, so that the next party with the same problem can go about fixing it with more confidence. Would you mind giving us some feedback?

Anyone have this problem with their top or know whats wrong or how to fix it? I was trying to glue the back window on because it fell out. I figured lifting up the back would be way easier then getting inside the car to glue in such a tight area. When I let it back down, the top would no longer go back up by the hydraulic motors. I can manually put the top down and up again and there is some resistance. (making sure the pressure is released of course). I checked the fluid and its good, everything works as it should. Windows go down automatically when I pop the top open, the compartment in the trunk is hooked up correctly.

I've never known the display to throw an error code.. I'm wondering if the oil change reset was done or not.. and it's just showing how far past you are. It does toss out a message or two when required.. Like "HI".. and it's not telling you "goodmoring"..

I believe you are correct, it may be the miles since oil. however it has had two in that time so i will need to find out how to reset this. also as far as the top. if i insure the back divider is in place and start the car, release the latch and open the top to the first position and then depress the top button and hold it down i get a beep alarm, if i press the button twice then hold it the windows now will go down and i here a gentle click in the rear and nothing happens, and no other sounds.

FSS Reset:

1. Turn key to the ON/RUN position.
2. Within one second press the ****/button twice.
3. The present status for days or distance is displayed.
Within 10 seconds turn the key to OFF/
LOCK.
4. Press and hold the ****/button, while turning
the key to ON/RUN again. The present status for
days or distance is displayed once more. Continue
to hold the ****/button.
After approximately 10 seconds, a signal sounds and
the display shows 7,000 miles (Canada: 11,000 km) for
approximately 10 seconds.

5. Release the ****/button.

Sounds like the Header switch might be an issue.. when you release the latch.. the windows should drop down..

Thank You. I will try all this tomorrow.
but so I understand, the windows should go down on their own once i release the latch? or once i release the latch and apply the top down switch?
