Do you plan on having any "mail-in" specials in the near future? As sweet as the deal sounds I can't bring myself to buy a PC let alone windows.

 

You won't see many (if any) extra gains from the catback. My best educated guess would be 20-25hp from the tune, and another 5-10hp total from iridiums+k&Ns.

If anyone is on the fence about a tune, now is the time to jump.

 

This is a pretty great deal and I can testify to the process being painless (so long as you own or have access to a PC and WiFi) and the results being incredibly noticeable.

I was satisfied with my tune at a much higher price; anyone who's on the fence should jump now and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.

Plus if this is anything like their other tune offerings (which I suspect it is) you get free re-flashes should you install more performance parts down the road, and dyno tuning at the hourly rate, so there's no reason not to jump now.

I'm one of the newest members, and have a stock N/A manual 05. I have read many very positive comments, but lack enough background to know if this even pertains to a stock Crossfire.

I would like to know if the change in programming benefits an unmodified Crossfire. Is it applicable to both automatic and manual transmission cars? Is it permanent if no other modifications are made? Are there downsides? I don't want to give up reliability or durability. I've read of different "stages." Are these related to other "material" changes or just different levels of electronic wizardry?

I would have called, but I know there are several folks on the forum who are as new to Crossfire as I am, and I know your offer has generated broad interest.

Jerry, I have been talking with Jake about redoing my tune. The previous owner had it tuned in exchange for doing some phototgraphy work for EC. I am wondering if the improvements made in the 'canned' tune over the last 18-24 months would warrant me paying for a retune, what do you think?

Also, if you pay this $265, are retunes for additional mods free of charge?

 

I have an N/A with just a rear cat delete and the Needswings devil horns and was only able to get 9HP so 20 -25 HP sounds a bit much with an almost stock N/A. I went from 180HP to 189HP. Hopefully, someday I'll be able to break 200HP...

 

Got an extra 300, don't know if I should do this or SB........

 

My $0.02. Go With the tune. Frankly, since you are in Houston you can probably go down to Motorwerks and have him dynotune it for $300 since you don't need the Galleto cable. Just my educated guess. Give Jerry a call, he will be more than helpful.

Eek, you raise a good point. My estimates were SRT estimate. Which do see more gains when stock because of the S/C. Sorry, didn't realize my error.

Either way, it is still very much worth it in my opinion.

The SB doesn't affect the engine performance at all. The only thing it affects is the throttle response when you push the pedal. Normal the pedal (throttle by wire) goes from 0V (no pressure on the peddle) to 5V (peddle mashed). The only thing the SB does is change it from a 0-5V range to a 2.5-5V range meaning that you feel a seat of the pants difference when you press the pedal.


Go with the tune all the way.
