They will pull off with the required effort. I painted my ***** 2 years ago with caliper paint. Perfect match and still looking like new

Ok cool.
I will have to take mine off. I have a cnc shop and was thinking of making some aluminum ***** with a few small black external orings on them, give them a different look and feel and also maybe mak some new aluminum door lock pins and dash pins too. When I get some time I will write up some code and make some up, perhaps anodize them as well...

I just painted mine yesterday. They were sticky and black, I just scrubbed them real good and sprayed them with a silver metallic paint I had. Not sure if it will last, but its better than the $40 these replacements sell for on eBay.

I picked up a set from the guys in Jersey a few years ago. When I got them I cleaned and painted my old ones. The new ones are still in the glove box and the old painted ones are holding up perfect.

You need a flexible paint as they are rubbery I'm told.
