Top installation instructions help
Re: Top installation instructions help
Good luck with that. When I had mine done under warranty the service manager told me it took three techs three hours to get it done right. It was the first they had done. Had the car three weeks because they just didn't want to do it although the top was already received. I didn't really care because it was in February and I had a loaner.

Re: Top installation instructions help
Ok,
I took off my old top and installed the new one tonight.
Started at 5:05 Central and finished at 9:05 PM central
Two problems
Left rear will not stay in
Two screws left over! (the company I purchased this from did not send installation instructions)
Have some clips left over which I have no idea what they are for.
And I will take it back apart tomorrow to see if I can find out where the screws were left out.
I think under the rubber molding.
WOW! saved $750 bucks but now I have some adjustments to make.

not sure this will explain the extra screws, but when I was patially removing my top to remove and replace hydraulic cylinders, I noted that although the service manual indicated there were screws to remove in a couple of cases, the tab in question was actually held in place by a rivet.

I think I have to take it apart and shift the rear to the right and the screws are the two under the front rubber!
All was going well except its hard to get the rubber back in!
Don't want to glue it!
This is a learning experience!
Re-do tonight and see if I can make her perfect

The clips you're talking about go on the rear of the top at the rear bow. If you look on the old top you'll see a piece of plastic with the clips on them where the plastic is scalloped out. You can use the old ones if you don't bend them up, i used the new ones and kept the old ones as spares. You can see in the picture what they look like. As for the 2 screws left over I don't know I only got rivets and clips with my top.

Took it all apart today and went everything and dummy me did not notice you cans squize the rubber tighter and they are fine reseated the front and she's great!
The old one is in great shape except for the glue I'm going to take it somewhere and have it double seamed and keep it for a spare!
Thanks for all of your help it's done and covered up until the storms are gone mid week
