Default BCM/ECM Questions and Issue

Hello Guys.
How are you all doing? Some of you might know me working on my crossfire project car. So far things are going good. Changed out the wire harness in my trunk and checked all circuit. Grounds and all are going fine.
I have some questions about BCM and ECU. When i plugged in a DAS scanner or any scanner, i can not communicate with the computer. I have to actually manualy add the make and model of my car on the scanner tool because it can not recognize it. even after that, it still cant communicate.

Do you think it is still some wiring issue or is it just my ECU toasted. Am thinking maybe thats why my car is not cranking or trying to start. Everything else is good.

Let me know what you think. You guys have been amazing during the course of my project and i wil keep you guys updated on my project.

Danke

Given the extensive work you have put into the car, I don't see how any of us could say.
You could have made errors in the wiring you have done, you could have water damage to a module or the bus somewhere, I'd say it is impossible to say.

Thanks for the reply.
The wiring i did was mostly from the trunk and changing out the security module and the corroded wires in the body wire harness. I never really touched that part of the car. Can i test with a used ECU (Even though i know that i will need to program it) just to rule out possibilities of wiring.

Thanks

Used ECU (which in our cars is called the PTCM)? I have no clue if you can get away with masking a used one with a new VIN.
I've never held a STAR in my hand.
