Default Convertible top - trunk separator bracket l/s

2005 chry. Crossfire roadster...The bracket that holds the trunk separator on the l/s is broken; this also holds the sensor that tells the top to go ahead and open or close. The top will not function unless the separator is in place. Anyone know where I might find a replacement bracket (Chrysler part # A1936900114)

Yes I did find the l/s part I was looking for through the local Chrysler dealer. Good luck with your search.

I can't figure out why you just don't tape the switch closed. Save money and time.

When you start trying to fix things with duct tape and bailing wire . . . it won't be long before your whole car is a POS. Have some respect for your Crossfire. Find / get the correct part that you need, install it and feel good that you've fixed the issue right!

But it's so much fun finding those little "fixes" when you buy one! LOL.

Wife's roadster has a "fix" on her switch.. I bought a members inventory when he sold out... and just happen to have that part he tossed in .. waiting on me to put it in.

Trunk Separator Question - Is this part actually 2 pieces that are velcroed together? When it is in place, are the tops of the shocks still visible or is that a different panel that covers them? I am beginning to feel like the divider is missing in my Roadster. I see the open slots on both sides where I am hearing about the switch location. I should post a picture I suppose.

Thanks, MrMiata, no, I haven't seen that piece, even the day I bought it, so...its MIA somewhere. I'll contact the previous owner to see if it may be in his garage for some reason.

I took a second look and, yes, the separator IS present. I see that it has two positions held in with Velcro. So, I pulled it away from the second position and saw how the left and right side secure into the slots. Since the top was operating properly, does that mean that the switch has been bypassed since the separator was not in position? Thanks...peace

Same situation as when we bought the wife's roadster.. had been running the top up and down and then realized.. after smashing a box of car cleaner stuff.. Hey.. that divider goes up so that don't happen.. LOL. Didn't dig into it but I'm going with a by passed switch done.

Hi, I need to replace the left side switch that tells the car that the cover box is in place so the convertible top will work. The trunk separator bracket. Chrysler part number 5142005AA. on the part itself is printed the number A1936900114.

Chrysler no longer stocks, neither does Mopar. Anyone have a parts vehicle that I can get the part from? Anyone know of a parts place that has crossfire parts?

Hello,

I am having a similar issue finding a replace Divider Switch or Header Switch. The top for 2005 Crossifre does no operate. The windows goes down when the latch is open but I get the beep when trying to put the top down. I have tried to manually close the Divider switch and that didnt seem to help. I even put a jumper wire across the divider switch with no luck. I am to the point that I am just going to replace Switches until the problem is fixed. I went to purchase part at Mopar and the part is no longer available through them.

Does anyone know of a source to find these parts?

Both switches, the actual switch itself, are generic parts you can buy from MCM Electronics or Digikey. Problem is figuring out which one you want AND I think the divider switch is fastened to a bracket that you'd need to re-use. I think the swtich is riveted in place, so you'd need to drill the rivets out and replace the switch itself.

Here is where you can't use the SLK320 part, cause the '320 top is a retractable hard top. This is where the Crossfire IS NOT an SLK....

Give it a few days, guys, someone here will chime in with either a part or a source.

Your problem might be the switch on the passengers side about center of the door. It's hard to see. I have to touch it with my finger to get the operation started.

With the top released from the windshield header it's quite easy to see.

I need to get a close look so I can tweak the switch a bit. My wife just might drive the car one day

Just try jiggling it a bit with the top unlatched.
