Default FSS question

The little wrench is showing along with numbers 514. With each start the wrench shows and the numbers do not change, 514. My 2008 Roadster has 6200 miles on it. If it simply signaled an oil change wouldn't the number increase the more i drove? Would appreciate some feedback!

I believe the number decreases and eventually goes negative if you pass the computer calculated service interval. I generally change my oil and reset once a year, so I don't exceed the interval. The service interval is a calculation of time and mileage.
