Default replacing brake light

One of the brake lights on my '05 roadster has gone out. Looking into the trunk it seems to me that in order to access the screws holding the tail-light housing it's necessary to remove the entire trunk lining, including the center plastic cover. Surely it can't have been that poorly designed. In the interior, just above the housing is a small plastic screw which is easily removed, but the rest of the lining seems to be secured with plastic "buttons" which I'm afraid to start yanking on for fear of breaking something. Am I missing something obvious which makes it easier to replace a simple brake light?

It's so easy - a caveman can do it!

Cycle the top down.. when the deck cover raises vertical release the button.. reach in to the tail light and replace the bulb. Don't have a beer and BS a while when doing this.. and you'll complete the task long before the hydraulic pressure bleeds off.

Thanks Mrmiata. You were right about it being easy enough for a cave man. Once I got the top up, all I had to do was poke it with a stick and bash it with a rock.

Is there a place to find out how to reinstall the trunk panels on an 08 roadster? I'm sorry I'm having a very difficult time trying to find the list of fixes that I see everywhere. It brings me to the sameness page everytime.
