Default Rough idle WTF ? - 12-23-2009 , 08:28 AM

Last night heading to work I stopped to grab something to eat
breaking the cardinal rule I decided to eat in the car,it's currently 40 degrees here in Florida so I left the car on with the heater on,after about 25min the car began sputtering and acting like it was about to die I hit the gas and got no response and there was no warning lights or over temp.I have never had anything like this happen I imeadiatley switched of the engine then cranked it back up and it continued with no response so I shut it off and looked under the hood to see if any visible lines came un done but nothing was diconnected I then got back into the car started it and it ran fine even when I left work this morning. Any suggestions?

Just a guess but it could have been condensation on the HT Leads. With the ambient at 40F, and letting the engine run at idle for so long, it could have allowed dampness to build up. When you popped the hood, humidity would have slowly returned to normal.

Had this once before but not with the SRT, however the symptoms you describe are identical.

Cheers

Yes this happened to me, sounds like a vacuum leak. Check the intake air temp(IAT) sensor. It is at the back of your engine a little ways down in the y-pipe. My sensor had actually popped out. Be sure its pressed all the way in.

ps, just realized you said it ran fine this morning so maybe that wasnt it, but still good to check anyways.

Tried almost every combination of parts available...
