Talking Ha! 11 sec, we kinda-sorta... - 02-06-2010 , 12:41 AM

I went to the 1/8 mile track tonight since the 1/4 mile track isnt open yet. I got the burnouts down finally and the 315's were loving it. I ran multiple 7.6x's the best being 7.62 @ 92.63 mph. I looked on dragtimes.com and found it to be the fastest 1/8 mile time without nitrous. The closet time was some guy with a 30shot followed by MRPHOTOMAN's 7.64 which equalled an 11.86 1/4. All 7.69's and faster went 11.8x in the 1/4....

So yea basically i should be at an 11.82-11.85 had i ran the full 1/4

Tried almost every combination of parts available...
12.10 @ 112mph
382 whp

So, now that you're selling all your go fast parts the car is faster? Spill the beans! Oh, and nice, nice times in the 1/8th. I'll get there too, one of these days.

Wow, that is a great 1/8th! However keep in mind most of our issues come after the 8th (ie leaning)- though I have the cruddy LET tune.

I have the cruddy stock tune and it almost stops pulling at the top of 3rd too. A/F looks good, just that nasty torque management doing what it does.

I didnt check the DA but the car was hooking very well and it was 45-47 degrees. I also never hit over 18psi or ran lean, so that helped immensely.

This is true. FYI, i ran lean with the stock tune, multiple LET tunes and the Inmotion tune.

Hey 240 nice run, do you think not going over the 18 psi is the reason you didn't go lean or is there another fix ? When i was running stacked, above
19 psi is when all my f/a leaning problems would start. ILLCYA

In a nutshell, yes. I have noticed a correlation with exceeding 18 psi and getting the lean issue. The cold always makes it worse. Its always in the upper rpms. It happens on the street NOT on the dyno. I cant recall anyones car running lean at 17psi, but i might be wrong. This is why no one complains about lean issues with the code 3 pulley.

I think the answer lies in the fuel pump, injectors, and tune. I might add a second walbro(this would be a 1000hp setup) just to eliminate the first part.

SaaaaaaaWeeeeeeeeet!!! So, what is your best guess.... translated to 1/4? I am thinking 11.85.

And, yes I know there are lots of variables, but guessing doesn't hurt.

Congratulations.

Nice Time! Good to see there are still people pushing these cars. I wish I had the chance to run mine on drag radials and good cool weather. No doubt I would have been in the 11.8xx range. My time just keeps slipping down the list on drag times.
There is a certified SSB in Dallas right now that I want bad, but they are about to start building our new house next week and my finances are tied up.
Good luck to everyone in the 2010 race season. I'm sure we'll see some more 11 second slips here soon.
