They have a recyclable content of rare metals inside. (CLICK)

And the local animal shelter keeps putting them down because they don't get adopted...
You all know I'm just kidding right?
Re: Catalytic converters - right sizes?
In reference to cats, am i correct in saying that when u put the pedal to the floor and it smells like someone busted a$$ in ur car, is that a sign that u need new cats? I get that smell and im running stacked pulleys with fuel pressure originally set to 66psi but kept getting a CEL saying both banks are too rich. Im just wondering if bad cats could give faulty readings and also throw the CEL saying im too rich when i might not really be.

Re: Catalytic converters - right sizes?
I just purchased a 2005 Limited Coupe with 116K miles on it. The only issues that I could find with the car are that the driver's side headlight had condensation in it (fixed thanks to this forum), the hood strut won't hold up the hood, and that there is a check engine light on due to a previous owner removing all of the catalytic converters. I had a diagnostic test run prior to buying, which indicated O2 sensor reading errors validating to me that the check engine was only due to the catalytic converters being removed. I live in a state that does not require emissions testing so this is not a problem other than the check engine light is annoying to look at and the exhaust smell is pretty potent. I have found Direct Fit catalytic converters from CATCO part #s CT-4378 and CT-4379. Does anyone have any experience with these or any other recommendations?
Re: Catalytic converters - right sizes?
I have a pair of PYPES cats for forced induction motors that may go in my exhaust system, not sure how good the mains are. The rears will be removed when I get Rob's headers. I would think a good muffler shop can swap in most cats by adding some length or cutting more out to start with depending on the length of the new cats. When these cats were removed the guy who took them off had moved them way off to the side but I found them. They have less than 2k miles on them. I paid $300. for the pair from Summit or Jegs.

Rod check this out:
My car's exhaust smells like rotten eggs - Delphi FAQ
www.delphifaq.com/faq/f1188.shtml
My car's exhaus smells like rotten eggs when I start it up in the morning. Why is that ... is usually noticed after a cold start, fast idle, extended periods of idling and full throttle acceleration. ... Replacing the catalytic converter will not eliminate sulfur smell and ... Strong sulfur smell means that you are running a rich air/fuel rat
Running rich can cause the smell and changing the converter will not change that if indeed you are rich. Still trying to dial it in AFR wise? It was tough for me and time consuming as the regulator gets more sensitive as you get a finer tune/AFR. Mark

PS: MY AFR's are 11.5 or lower due to this tune that was for 450cc injectors when I was running TORCO.
