Default Need a quick answer about removing foam tape. - 10-24-2009 , 02:09 PM

I started to debadge my car and the first thing i took off was the fenderbadges. I got them off but there is a gray foam tape that held them onto the car. How can i get this off with out hurting the paint. I tried to use my fingernail but it made little scratches in the paint.

I use spray gunk engine cleaner to soften it and use a terry cloth towel...Woody

WD40 also will soften the adhesive and allow you to peel away the remaining foam and glue without any harm to the paint.

Thanks for the answers guys. I didn't have enough time to read the answers I had to go to my brother in laws birthday party. So I used the dental floss but had nothing to get the gunk crap off. It took forever but I got it off. Now a good clay and wax tomorrow and I will be all set.
