Default Slight Scratch in Bumper - 02-15-2010 , 08:28 PM

I have a 1-2 inch scratch in my bumper it appears from having the snowblower resting against the car. It is not deep but is visible up close, just enough to drive me crazy. Any suggestions or do I need to take to a body shop?

Pick up a tube of Meguiar's ScratchX and apply it with a foam wax applicator and a bit of passion. Wipe it off before it dries. Apply a second or third time if need be. Avoid using terry cloth as an applicator though. As long as you can not feel the scratch/scuff with your fingernail (unless it's a bit of paint transfer) you should get rid of fairly easily.

I bought my car with only 5000 miles on it but the moron that had it before me liked to pull forward and back up into cars and get marks from the license plate screws pushed into the bumpers. I guess the only thing I can do is to go to a body shop and have the bumpers redone. I don't think touch up can help.

Thanks all for your help! Ron
