What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
Re: What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
Topped my Srt6 out at 158 mph and honestly very stable at that speed...felt like i was going only 100 mph but that said it was a new road and empty and the radar detector was on. If this thing wasn't governed at that speed it felt like it could have easily gone faster.
Re: What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
I've only had mine up to 145 mph and it was still pulling very hard, as if I was still doing 80 mph. I had to back off due to traffic though.
One of these days I'll see what she's got, and see if the Renntech program changed anything up top, limit wise.
I had my SRT-4 a hair over 150 mph before and it was no where near as stable and smooth as the SRT-6 is.

And if it is speed - limited, to what? I have some track time at Texas Motor Speedway coming up, and would like to know what to expect. 140 is barely enough to keep you from falling onto the apron there, did it in an Indy car this summer, feels strange to have to steer right to make a left hand turn at that speed - talk about a high banked oval!
Re: What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
I had mine up to 110 on NJ Tpk. I punched the gas at 50 mph and got to 110 then I saw a white car in my rearview mirror. I hit the brake and about 5 miles later, I was pulled over by a NJ state trooper. I had my radar detector on but it didn't go on. I removed the detector as soon as I was stopped. To make the long story short, he let me go with just a warning. After he handed me a warning slip, I asked the officer how fast I was going. He said, I am not sure but I was traveling at 80 and your car passed about 10 cars in a flash. Hallelujah!!!
Re: What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
Thats funny this thread popped up again...It just so happens that I ran it up again on Sunday...
This time I got to 164 MPH and it was still climbing!!!
I need to try and find a nicer road thats longer, because now I'm really wondering what this thing will top out at.
The road I used the last two times gets short REAL quick at that speed! Lol.
I'm surprised at how fast it still climbs at that speed too, because it goes from 130 to 164 mph much faster then it would take my previous SRT-4 to go from 130 to 150 mph!
That and the SRT-6 is so smooth, quite and stable even at that speed, as if I was still doing 100.

Top speed to date is 152 from Orovada to McDermitt on I95 (approximately 30 miles), verified with GPS: not wise to speed in Oregon. However, when I get it on the open road we'll routinely reach a 120 MPH. The car is definitely one sweet ride.

I've taken it up to 150ish and am yet to take it to the speedway to push it to the limit... I have the autostick and the car is fully stock... and it felt as stable and as smooth as it always is.
Problem is that its hard to realize that you're speeding... and the ticket above is testament to that...

One of these days I would like to take a couple passes at El mirage, plenty of track to hit the limiter. So far in town I've managed 120 on the long beach fwy. I don't trust these drivers around here, they never use blinkers or look in their mirrors to see if you’re coming up on them. Just too nutty.
