What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
Re: What's the fastest you "Allegedy" driven your Crossfire?
I have gotten my crossfire up to 220 km/h (137 mph) a few weeks ago. It felt extremely steady and as if I was floating on air...haha.
I drove my dad's E55 AMG on monday night, and hit 260 km/h at which stage the car wouldn't go any faster as it reach the limiter (even though it is supposed to be limited to 250 km/h...just indicates the accuracy of a speedo) with my dad sitting next to me. I didn't even know we where going sooo fast...can't feel speed in a car like that. My 2 friends, who sitting in the back, pointed it out to me...Haha.

lol I know this is a really old thread but I thought I would resurrect it just for fun !! I hit a solid 145 mph in my 2005 alabaster white Limited roadster n/a and had more if I wanted it, rock solid at that speed hands down the most stable vehicle I've ever driven at high speeds, no doubt in my mind this car would be stable at 200 mph.

The Crossfire is stable as a rock at 140MPH. SharkO and I drove across Kentucky behind a Mercedes S-600 for over 50 miles a few years back. 140MPH all the way and it was magical.
I have buried the speedometer's on both my Crossfires, the roadster NA and the SRT coupe, and have no idea how fast they topped out. But I never felt a loss of control.
But then I'm flippin' crazy.

So the fastest so far is Eracer76 @ 164mph?
Anyone know of any other SRT guys that have claimed to go faster. I am quite curious. I am sure a close to 400whp SRT-6 could hit 175ish.
I personally have only got up to 125. Haven't tried a top speed run yet, but I know of some places where I could try it out without getting caught. But I am not sure how much I really want to do it honestly

I would be too worried about the tires, although I have heard that centrifugal force will keep them up at speeds over 120, but then that is what "they" say.
What bothers me is that even if that is true, at some point you have to drop below 120 again.....
Reminds me of the time I was ferrying a Cessna 182, when I pulled back on the yoke for liftoff, I heard a noise and looked at the wheel on my side and saw that the tire had blown and completely demolished the wheel fairing.
I had about a 3 hour flight, so I just went on rather than landing immediately. I had 3 hours to think about what was gonna happen.
I landed at the destination off the runway in the grass as slow as I could without stalling, and had no problem at all. All the damage that was done was the tire and the wheel fairing !

maybe some off-the-wall never heard of brand of tire, I don't know for sure it's just a guess for lack of research on the subject.I personally only buy name brand proven performance tires but of course that's just me .

I'm quite sure that I could top that but WHY? I have enough sense now to know that nothing good could come from doing so, I'll leave that to those with big "round ones" to do.
