Default High Miles and ohh so dirty

I removed my throttlebody today to replace it with a larger one and I was discusted how dirty it was. The amount of crap flowing into the intake is CrAzY. I have not had it off before but I have wiped it out a little when I put on my CAI when I first installed it last year. I will be looking into a catch can or something very similar very soon. I took some pictures

Beaner your the man, now you have the part in your hand, do you think it is possible to bore out the inside diameter to the larger size without weakening the casting too much or would it break through the sidewall?
If it can be done then all one would have to do is make a new butterfly and reinstall it.

you mean bore the 72?
its possible but any bigger and you'd need to port the flange on the intake manifold
and without any more mods the 72 is more than enough, look into injectors and a v8 maf first

How about meeting halfway? That puts it around Burlington - Stoney Creek on the QEW. Do you know any good spot?
Tomorrow is fine.
I have been thinking of making my own catch can, there are a lot of DIY's on the net such as this one that looks neat.

I'm talking about boring out the stock n/a from 68 to 74 mm to match the flange. Just wondering if it's possible.

the catch can is simple, plug the line on the maf elbow. run all 3 lines from the breather covers to the can. Im mounting mine near the brake master. Im not going to run it back to the intake because crankcase pressure will force everything into the can and i dont want and oil vapors going back into the intake tract. makes for cleaner air, more efficient combustion, etc.

im also deleting the air injection and the egr valve

I know people have done it, but i purchased mine for 150 off of ebay from an 05 e55 amg, it even came with the rear superchager housing. Just swap the electronics and youre good to go. not worth it boring out the stock one. I like to have to stock parts incase i ever want to convert the car back and sell it

those types of catchcans are good for one line pcv systems, we have a 3 line system that terminates into one large one.
You'd be better off with each line having its own route to a common can

So you have no outlet from the can, what good is that?

NW sells a very nice catch can that installs easily and has all of the parts you need to do it.

the can doesnt need an outlet, just a filter.

you dont need a vacuum source when you're venting the catch can to atmosphere

What do you do with the hose that goes from the cover to the intake before the throttlebody then? If it is not hooked up you will throw an engine code.
This is not a honda, I have done that to honda's before and it works on that just fine but not the crossfire

I dont see why you would throw a code, no sensors monitor the breather system
