Question Will a Zex kit work??

I have had zex wet kits on my dakota R/T and Grand Prix GTP. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the TPS sensor and the shreader valve conections are compatable with the crossfire? Thank you for any help or input!!!

Not sure what a shreader valve is... But, the TPS is a bit tricky on this car because it receives voltage feedback from the TB MAF MAP etc... As you know, this is a drive-by-wire system.

Quite painful to be sure...

schrader valve is the fuel pressure test port and its named so due to the internal mechanism that allows you to press in the valve and have a open line or let go of the valve and have it seal perfectly...

on the crossfire it is a standard 4AN fitting ... for those that are wondering, using a 1 dollar tool you can unscrew the inernal schrader valve and have a nice 4AN attachment point off the fuel rail to supply things like nitrous kits and extra injectors...

Well the Zex kit does not have a actuall switch that activates the system like a NOS system, It has a wire that taps into a TPS line and to set it you hold the throttle down all the way and have a friend press a button on the solenoid box. When the signal that it recived when the button was pressed is met then it starts to spray. I just wanted to know if the TPS is somewhat like other cars or if it is commpleatly different?

Thank you for the fitting info I think I am gonna try and see if I can get this system to work.

From my past experience with Mini Cooper's it should work. The Mini's also have drive by wire throttles. You can check Northamericanmini.com (maybe .org) for info on how it works on those cars.

I know this is an old thread, but this could be dangerous... I don't think that the fitting is a -4.. It looks like a 1/4" flare, which uses a 45º flare rather than a 37º like an AN fitting. I'll figure out its size for sure
<< -4 AN ... 1/4 flare>>

Thanks, but I don't want to cut the stock fuel line, I would rather use a fitting from the schrader valve to feed the fuel solenoid. I have no idea what the fittings are on the stock inlet hose, so I can't branch off of either of them. I am not going to use a zex kit either..

Eurocharged would have the answers since they supply kits for our cars.

It may be the same thread, but the flare looks different to me.. I have been selling AN fittings for a couple years now and I kind of developed an eye for them... it's an 8º difference between the two, and the "hypotenuse" of the flare is about 1/8".. It may be AN but I'm going with my gut on this one, it looks different than what I am used to seeing. Fire at 60 psi is pretty scary to me and I'd rather not do something I feel isn't right, even if it is.

Not to be a smart *** but if your selling AN fittings you should know AN threads are not the same at NPT. I don't know of many manufacturers that uses NPT on fuel system because they are less reliable at holding pressure then AN.

If you feel I'm still wrong then you gotta do whatcha do.

I never said it was NPT, it's obviously not a tapered pipe thread... I said I thought it was 1/4 flare (not inverted flare), which uses a 45º flare rather than a 37º like an AN would. The fitting in the picture I posted on the left is a 1/8" NPT to -4AN, the top of the fitting is -4.. the one on the right is 1/4 flare, which looks alot like an AN but the flare is not the same...

Here are the 2 side by side, 4AN on the left, fuel rail on the right.. Very close but a little different. It could just be that the flare is cut back for clearance, I just don't have any way to verify its flare..

edit- I am going to cut 2 triangles from steel, one with a 37º angle and the other with a 45º.. I did it with cardboard at work, and it appears to be a 45º
